As an essential business, The Postal Route has remained open through-out the pandemic. In response to the initial outbreak, The Postal Route has continually performed daily sanitation of all surfaces (doors and handles, counters, displays, computer equipment, staplers, etc.) and restrooms. We provide employee education on safe practices and promote frequent handwashing (including the use of hand sanitizer between customers). Additionally, we measure employees body temperature at the beginning of each shift. We provide tissues to employees and customers, no-touch trash cans , and hand sanitizer when available. We have also, cleaned all the carpets and changed air filters in the building. Due to a lack of availability and contradicting reports from the medical community and Whitehouse, the use of masks, has been optional. Despite the lack of symptoms, It is important to note that throughout, several employees opted to be tested for the virus and/or the anti-bodies; yet none tested positive. However, due to the rate of new cases in SC and NC and the recent mandatory mask requirement in NC, The Postal Route has implemented a new requirement that all staff wear a mask while in the customer areas.
